Astro Tax: clear positioning as a foundation for growth
The challenge
Astro Tax is an online accounting firm based in Leuven that supports entrepreneurs with both their bookkeeping and proactive tax advice. The offering itself was strong, but their story wasn’t coming across clearly enough online.
Visitors were left with questions such as:
- What exactly does Astro Tax do?
- Who are they for?
- What will they actually take off my hands?
- And how does Astro Tax differ from a traditional accounting firm?
The positioning and messaging were fragmented. And the homepage didn’t immediately make the core promise clear either. The online surveys we ran made that very clear. We also saw untapped conversion potential in the email communication following a potential customer’s request for quote.
Our approach
1. Clearer positioning and messaging
We started by refining Astro Tax’s positioning and focusing on their ideal customer profile (ICP):
- What makes Astro Tax fundamentally different?
- Which entrepreneurs get the most value from this service?
- Which frustrations does it remove?
- Which promise matters most?
Based on those insights, we translated their complex service offering into clear, human messaging. The focus was on peace of mind, time savings and proactive advice. Stripping out all jargon or vague marketing claims.
2. Complete overhaul of the homepage
Because most new customers came in through the homepage and the quote request form, we completely overhauled the homepage:
- A new structure that logically answers prospects’ most important questions
- A clear hierarchy explaining who Astro Tax is, what they do, who they are for and why they’re a good choice
- Conversion-focused copy that brings the value proposition to the forefront straight away
- CTAs tailored to the mindset of entrepreneurs
The result is a homepage that not only explains what Astro Tax does, but actively guides visitors towards requesting a quote.
3. Blueprint for target audience-specific pages
To make it even clearer who Astro Tax’s ideal customer is, we developed a blueprint for dedicated target audience pages.
Instead of relying on one generic message for everyone, we created a structure that allows Astro Tax to:
- Create a sense of recognition for each audience
- Highlight relevant pain points and benefits
- Consistently carry the broader Astro Tax promise throughout
This blueprint lays the foundation for scalable landing pages that support conversion without making the website unnecessarily complex.
4. Copywriting for email flows
We also rewrote the entire email flow around quote requests and follow-up:
- A personal, human tone of voice
- Clear expectations around next steps
- More transparency and reassurance at crucial moments
- Consistente messaging over alle touchpoints heen
Each email was given a clear role within the conversion process: to inform, build trust or drive action.
5. UX and conversion optimisations
Alongside the strategic work we did, we also implemented concrete quick wins, such as:
- More logically structured forms
- Microcopy that reduces friction
- Clearer CTAs on blog and thank-you pages
- Clearer framing of the process
The result
By approaching positioning, UX and copy as one integrated whole, Astro Tax’s website and online communication is now:
- Clear and consistent
- Human and approachable
- Conversion-focused without feeling pushy
That makes it much more closely aligned with who they really are: a fast-growing digital accounting firm that not only takes work off entrepreneurs’ hands, but also advises them proactively and helps them think ahead.
